How do I send my jewellery to you safely?
We recommend using Royal Mail Special delivery. You can also hand deliver your items by visiting our Customer Service counter at 1 Moreton Street, Birmingham, B1 3AX.
How long does a valuation take?
Standard turnaround is 10 working days from receipt of your item.
Can I visit in person?
Absolutely, you can drop off your items at our Customer Service counter at 1 Moreton Street, Birmingham, B1 3AX.
Will my insurer accept your report?
Our reports are accepted by all major UK insurers. If your insurer has specific requirements, contact us before booking and we will confirm we can meet them.
What if I don't know what my jewellery is made of?
That’s exactly why you come to us. Our valuers will identify the metal, assess purity, identify any gemstones, and provide you with a complete description, you don’t need to know anything in advance.
How often should I have my jewellery revalued?
Most insurers recommend revaluing jewellery every 3–5 years. Precious metal prices and gemstone values change significantly over time and your jewellery may now be worth considerably more than your current insurance covers.

Do I need to be a registered business to hallmark?
You don’t need to be a registered limited company or formal commercial business to hallmark. Hallmarking is a legal requirement for anyone trading precious metals above the exemption weights:
- Silver: 7.78g and over
- Palladium: 1g and over
- Gold: 1g and over
- Platinum: 0.5g and over
How do I get and use the "Marked by Birmingham" badge?
Once your registration has been received and your invoice has been settled, you’ll receive a welcome pack with a dealer’s notice, guidance and your badge. You’re free to use it on promotional items or packaging for any pieces hallmarked with us, on your website or on your social media.
What happens after my first three discounted hallmarks?
Standard hallmarking rates apply from your fourth submission onwards — but your access to free education sessions stay with you for as long as you’re hallmarking with us.
